John 15:15-17 (NKJV)
15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. 17 These things I command you, that you love one another.
Wow to be chosen! Think back to your childhood years, was there ever a time on the playground teams were being chosen? You may have been chosen last or not at all and disappointment would settle in you. Jesus calls us friends and chose us to bear fruit. His love for you was first that He went to the cross for your sins. Not only did He love you enough to save you, now He in turn wants others to come to know Him through you.
God puts people in our path to share His love with. They are appointments designed for you to bear fruit. He chose you as a friend to help your friends to come to know Him. To know how to share we have to spend time in prayer with Him. Spending time in prayer helps you accept His love, know His love, and understand His love for all that in turn leads you to love all. We are to love one another just as He first loved us.
It is exciting to be able to share His love, but we have to be right with Him. We need to pray that He shows us how to share His love. You may have to improve your listening skills, learn how to open up, learn how to see people for who they are, or just learn to love all for who God made them to be. When we ask Him how to share He will show us how to share so that He receives all the glory. What a friend we have who would lay down His life for your sins and you in turn get to share the gift of salvation with others.
Thank Him for going to the cross for you and in turn thank Him for those He will show you to extend His love to in your journey.
