Joshua 5:15 (NKJV)
15 Then the Commander of the Lord’s army said to Joshua, “Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy.” And Joshua did so.
When you come to the Lord in prayer do you feel like you are on holy ground? When you come to God in prayer understand He is there for you. Do you feel His presence? Too many times we seek Him in prayer on the run. We keep our shoes on ready to run after we pray or we just pray on the run.
We are ready to run at times for various reasons. We may be looking at the problem instead of Jesus who has the solution. We may want to pray and not take the time to listen for His answer. Taking off your shoes shows you are ready to listen to a Loving Heavenly Father and relax by spending time with Him. If we are in listening mode we will prepared to hear and see what He has to show us.
Listening may require adjustments you may have to make in your life. He may want you to spend more time in the Word to grow you in your relationship with Him. He may have you wait and focus on Him. There may be other factors that have to take place before you see the entire answer.
Cherish each time in prayer with God who truly loves you by sending Jesus to the cross for your sins. Jesus will be with you all throughout your journey so give Him your complete trust and attention.
May God bless your special time with Him because you are special to Him!
