Galatians 6:1 (NKJV)
1 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.
We have all been overtaken by trespasses at different stages of our life. How did God help you through it? Someone may have prayed for you, God may have answered your prayer, someone could have shared a Scripture with you or maybe someone shared their testimony to show you how Jesus helped them overcome the circumstance. We all have been through something.
Since you were rescued and helped have you in turn helped others? Sometimes we are afraid or ashamed to share our testimony. Sharing a testimony gives God all the glory. You are telling what He did for you and now you have a chance to allow Him to help others through you. Your testimony may provide a solution for their situation. Now look at the last part of the verse where it shows for you to use gentleness as well as self-control. They need someone to love them through and not join them in the sin.
Now you may not share your testimony with everyone, but as God gives you the opportunity to share His love it could be through prayer, sharing the Word, meeting them where they are, or just listening. The key is be prepared to show His love to others who are overtaken and take them back to the grace of Jesus. He will forgive them when they seek His forgiveness and be with them on their journey. Remember to always give God all the glory and thank Him for working through you.
