True Love

We know every year we have special occasions we pass on gifts.  Various items are purchased that may be temporary.  Things purchased that cost several dollars and will last how long?  Flowers that last a little while, gifts that may last a little longer, cards with a message and words you add that can make a difference.  An expression of love you show with a price.  A price that is paid with a sacrifice of hard earned money and time to shop. All of this is done in love.

We do this throughout the year to show our love for others.  Now take a moment to see a love that we should cherish and share everyday of the year.  A gift we can receive and share that came with a price and is the ultimate sacrifice.  A sacrifice was paid for all to receive, and in turn share with all and that is the love of Christ.

John 3:16 (NKJV)                                                                             For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

We so many times share love through gifts and these are good to share.  They are an expression of our love for others.  Yet how many times throughout the year do we love all the people we cross paths with.  Everyday we are in contact with others and when we share His love we are showing we love God.

Sometimes we are not sure of the word love because we use it in so many ways.  We love television shows, love playing games, love a food or drink yet this is not love.  Love is expressed for us from our Heavenly Father through Jesus.  Jesus went to the cross for all who will receive Him and this is the greatest gift of love and expression of love ever shared.

Matthew 22:37-40 (NKJV)

37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

Receiving His love and the gift of His forgiveness requires us to pass it on.  What a great feeling to know you are forgiven and to know we are to pass it on.  Forgiveness can be hard at times, but just think of all the things you have been forgiven of through Jesus going to the cross for you.  We know the price He paid and all we have to do is ask for forgiveness.  So we in turn need to pass on forgiveness to those who ask us to forgive them for wrongs done unto us.

Colossians 3:13-14 (NKJV)

13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.

So everyday needs to have His love passed on.  Then when you pass it on He will get all the glory because others will see His love in you, with you and through you.
