James 4:17 (NKJV)
Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is a sin.
How many times have you felt bad from the wrongs you have done? We have all done things we regretted and had to ask forgiveness from Him in our journey. We have all at some point abused, misused, used or accused others in un-Christ-like ways. When we realize it we have asked forgiveness from God, as well as those we have hurt. We feel the hurt when we have done bad things and know the hurts we have inflicted.
After we ask for forgiveness we feel so much better. When we ask forgiveness from God the slate is wiped clean. When we seek it from others we clear our conscious and hope they pass on the same forgiveness we have from God. So many times we focus on the wrongs we have done, but look at this verse in James.
It is a sin if we do not do a good that we should do. We have all at one time been guilty of this. I know one time I left a witness situation from a stranger and did not finish with asking “did they know Jesus?” As I was about 5 miles down the road I had to pull over and weep, pray for forgiveness, and pray that someone would come in the path of that person and share the love of God with them. Not asking the question when I should have was a sin.
Every opportunity that God provides we need to see how He wants us to share His love. The mission we are on is to be on commission to share His love and not on omission and miss out on sharing His love. The missed opportunities that we miss are just as sinful as the misuse of opportunities. God loves you and wants you to share His love with all. To God be all the praise and glory!
