Joyful, Prayerful, Thankful

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NKJV)

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

We need to always have an attitude of gratitude.  We live so blessed, but we do not always say thanks to God.  We cry out when we are in need, yet when He answers we do not always go back to Him.  We may also at times not go back and thank Him because it was in His timing and not ours.  We may have even received His answer and it was not what we expected or desired.

We are to rejoice always because He loves us.  He hears our prayers and that should give us joy.  Joy that comes from God through our knowing His Son is all we need.  He is love, provides grace, gives mercy and went to the cross to forgive our sins.  So there is no excuse not to be joyful.

We are to pray without ceasing since we are joyful.  So in our joy we need to be prayerful.  Praying for all that He shows us throughout the day will be for Him to work through us.  Praying for needs, lifting up others, giving thanks, singing Him praises as well as seeing who He desires we share His love with.  As we pray He will guide us and show us all that He has planned for us.  So we are to be joyful, that leads to prayerful, that in turn guides us to be thankful.

In everything give thanks can be a challenge at times.  Yet the second part of that verse states for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. God’s will is for us to be thankful for His Son and all the He shows us.  Jesus paid the ultimate price for us and we need to share His love with others.  Tell your testimony, share a smile, give an encouraging word, stop and pray with them or any other gift God wants to share through you.  We are so blessed and we need to tell Him thanks, we need to share His love, and in all that we do give Him all the glory.
