2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NKJV)
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
We have all been through some type of circumstance where we needed comfort. We have lost a job, lost a loved one, struggled in a marriage, fell to temptations, have a prodigal child, or one of many other circumstances that we need comfort. God loves us and is always there. Did you give your situation over to Him? When we are going through a rough part of the journey God is still near and we need to realize that. He is there to comfort us if we will look to Him and not the tribulation.
Looking to Him requires us to come to Him in prayer and in His Word. Just calling to Him in prayer opens us up to His love. When we include Him and draw to Him, He will show us His love. Scriptures we need at the right time, an encouraging word from a friend, others praying for you, a stranger’s smile in a retail line are just a few examples of His love. God is there to comfort us and as we walk daily on our journey we are in turn to encourage others.
God not only showed how much He loves you as He was with you all of way. He wants us in turn to be a reflection of His love to others. Please allow Him to flow through you as you listen, pray, smile, give encouragement or even share a testimony about what He did for you. All of these give God the glory and we are sharing the love that He shared with us. So praise Him and thank Him for being there and ask Him to put people in your path to share His love with.
Dear Heavenly Father:
We thank You for caring for us. We thank You for Your comfort. We ask that You show us how to in turn share Your love so others might be comforted through us. We thank You in advance for all You want to do through us for Your glory.
In Your Son’s precious Name we pray. Amen.
