Prayer

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NKJV)

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

How often do you pray?  Do you just pray in troubled times?  Do you do all the talking and no listening?  Do you thank God for all answered prayers?  Are you thankful when He provides what you need and not what you want?  We need to be joyful.  Having a Father who hears, a Father that answers, and a Father that provides hope truly deserves our thankfulness.  Not only our thanks, but our attraction to His love and our attention to what He shares is what He desires.  He wants us to know Him and spend time opening our hearts, our minds, our eyes, our ears so that we will know how to walk, talk, and use our hands for His glory.  We can only know what He wants to share when we pray and seek Him in the Scriptures.  The many things He shows us in the Old Testament and the New Testament are always what we need to see.

The Holy Spirit intercedes our prayers and guides us in the Word.  We have to be in prayer to hear.  The answers are there if we will seek His will and not ours.  So as He shows you be thankful.  He provides the right answer in His perfect timing.  So thank Him for everything and not just the answers that match your desires.  He loves you, He sent His best, and He knows what you need before you ask.  So spend time with Him and in everything you do include Him because He loves you.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father:  Please forgive me for when I do not pray.  Please forgive me for the times I have not given You thanks.  Thank You for my joy and all that You provide.  You know my needs and I love You.

In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
