Desires

Mark 8:34-36 (NKJV)

34 When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 35 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. 36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?

To have the true desires of your heart is when Jesus resides in your heart.  When we have accepted Jesus as our personal Savior and Lord we will want to follow Him.  We will want to put Him first.  There will be times you drift, but understand He is there to forgive you if you ask and repent.  Just picture Jesus carrying the cross for you.  The price He paid for you and He asks you to take up your cross.  If you take up your cross to follow Him, He will show you the way.  You will not have the desires of your past.  You will desire to do the Father’s will and not your own.  You will desire to build up treasures in Heaven and not in the bank.  You will see others needs and want to share with them.

You will share because you care.  You will want to help others come to know the love of Jesus.  Remember Jesus gave His all for you so give Him your all in return.  Then you will truly get to count the blessings He has for you and pass on blessings so others will see His love through you.

Prayer:

Jesus: Please forgive me where I do not put You first in all I do.  Thank You for going to the cross and showing me Your love and Your way.  Thank You for being my Lord and Savior.

In Your Holy Name I pray, Amen.
