Hope at All Times

Every day when we awaken from our sleep, we are given another day to enjoy the journey.  This journey is the journey of life.  We would not be here today if it were not for our heavenly Father.  We are given a brand-new day and we take it one step at a time.  The journey is not always easy.  We have good and bad days.  Sometimes things go our way and sometimes they do not go good at all.

Anyone who has a good day is always thankful.  We should also be thankful in the bad also.  To get through any day is easier when we accept God as the tour guide of our life.  God wants us to enjoy life.  That joy comes from the love He has for us.  In His love for us He sent Jesus to die upon the cross for our sins.

Jesus wants to walk on that journey in life with us.  How many of you have ever seen the picture of Footprints in the Sand?  This shows the journey of 2 sets of footprints and then only one set of footprints.  The one set is when Jesus is carrying us on this journey.

That brings us to the topic of the week and that is FAITH.  To get through any day we need to have the faith that God will help us get through.  I broke down the word faith into the 5 letters of F-A-I-T-H. So, let us begin our look at faith.

Hebrews 11:1-3 (KJV)

1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

The letter “F” represents the Favor given.  You say how does God show favoritism?  God loves all His creation.  God does give His favor to those who believe yet have not seen.

Anyone can believe in what they see.  Now we have seen answered prayers.  We have seen the love of God.  We have seen God’s creation and the beauty of this world.  We have heard all the miracles in the Bible.  We see the Bible and know that it is God’s Word.  All these things we believe are true by faith.  It must be faith to believe these things happened and yet we do not see God.

The people of Egypt had to step out in faith when they were to follow Moses out of Egypt into the promise land.  They had favor with God.  They saw miracles in person yet still struggled in their faith.  To see the Red Sea part and God’s presence in this battle of faith and still struggle is amazing to me.  God helped them get across the sea and saved them from the capture of Pharaoh yet they still struggled in their beliefs.

As Moses went up on the mount he was in the presence of God.  While up on that mount the people were making gods out of gold.  Golden calves and other things to worship that they could see.  Through all these mistakes God still loved them.  Yet they could see the miracles of God, and yet still drift.

You may say how can I have favor with God?  God loves His children for who they are.  All we should do is go to the Lord in prayer and be remorseful of what we have done.  Jesus died upon the cross so that we can be forgiven.

2 Corinthians 5:6-7

6 _ So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as we live in these bodies we are not at home with the Lord. 7That is why we live by believing and not by seeing.
