Believing in Jesus is the beginning of knowing we have eternal life. This does not mean we are exempt from things happening to us. We now have to focus on God. We do not have to go on our journey alone. God wants the best for us. To receive the best from God we sometimes get stretched to our limits. We need to have faith and trust in God.

1 Corinthians 9:24-27 (NKJV)
24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. 26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

The best is yet to come represents the letter “B”. We know that after we accept Jesus as or Lord and Savior we will have eternal life. That is the ultimate goal is to spend eternity in heaven with Jesus. The easy part is accepting Jesus because He paid the price for us on the cross. Our journey in the race begins at our acceptance of Him as our Lord. Our life is a marathon and we need to grow and develop. We are rewarded on earth as well as Heaven in all that we do here. We need to grow and develop ourselves to be the best Christian we can become. We will grow tired and weary. This will help to stretch and develop our growth.
We know where we are going and we need to do our best. Developing ourselves can be through reading, praying and being mentored. Never let pride get in the way of asking questions. The best athletes are coached and developed by others. Allow yourself to be coached and be the best because you are going to receive the best prize of all. What a victory we have in knowing Jesus. Be a winner and share your techniques with others.
