Galatians 5:13 (NKJV)
For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
Instead of taking the liberty of our freedom for granted we should be thankful. As we are thankful we can in turn thank all those that have served us through the many years of our life. We may have not realized that as they were serving they were serving through their love for Jesus. They were serving because they were passing on what had been passed on to them.
What was passed on was someone shared the love of Christ with them and they in turn have continued to pass it on to others. The love of Jesus flowing through us shows the freedoms we have as we serve Him and others. So we should always serve to not what pleases us, but what pleases and glorifies Him.
So, as you go through this day and the weeks to come thank those who have served you. Here are just a few examples, and as you think of them thank them and also pray for them. Some you might think of could be family members, public workers, first responders, teachers, medical workers, highway workers, bank workers, utility workers, church workers, farmers, harvesters, laborers, those that serve in capacities you see, as well as those behind the scenes, and there may be others that come to your thoughts as you reflect. Also thank you for being the servant that you are as you serve our Lord and Savior Jesus. Remember as you pray you are serving by being a prayer warrior for the one you are praying for.
