Patience Comes from God

Romans 15:4-6 (NKJV)
4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. 5 Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, 6 that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Scriptures are the Word of Truth. We go through life at times praying for direction, yet we do not wait upon God’s answers. We prayed for the direction we wanted and not His direction, and missed out on His perfect timing and direction for us. Patience is at times required of us in going through trials. Everything we go through God has a plan and when we follow Him, He is glorified. Patience for answers can be tough in waiting or even receiving the answer we did not expect, but God has a plan.

The Scriptures in the Old Testament, as well as the New Testament shows how patience was followed or not sometimes not at all. God shows us the results of both. You can read about Job, Joseph, Jonah, David, people that were healed after years of pain, as well as others all throughout the Scriptures to give us hope. Hope in knowing our Heavenly Father listens, answers and directs us if we will just ask, listen and apply what He shows.

His plans and purpose is for all of us to love Him, obey Him and when we do He is glorified. Our patience is short because we want results now. When we short cut to our way we miss out on the blessings of His way. Live for Him and put your complete trust in the One Who loves you and you will always be blessed. So pray and spend time in the Word and know He loves you and has a plan.
