All About Jesus: His Loving Word

Hebrews 2:1-8 (NKJV)
1 Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. 2 For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, 3 how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, 4 God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will? 5 For He has not put the world to come, of which we speak, in subjection to angels. 6 But one testified in a certain place, saying: “What is man that You are mindful of him, Or the son of man that You take care of him? 7 You have made him a little lower than the angels; You have crowned him with glory and honor, . And set him over the works of Your hands. 8 You have put all things in subjection under his feet.” For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him.

How much time do you spend reading God’s Word? Are you reading once a year, twice a month, weekly, just on Sunday, or do you spend time daily in His presence reading and listening to what He desires to show you? He shows us His love for us from Genesis to Revelation, from Book to Book, Chapter to Chapter, as well as Scripture to Scripture. Yet are you spending enough time with Him? If you are not reading and listening, you will drift away from His love as it shows in verse one. If you are not anchored in the Living Word you are drifting away from His loving direction for your life.

God shows us He has plans for us as He showed everything in the Old Testament led up to Jesus coming for us. In the New Testament. He has always been mindful of us as we see in verse six. God desires that we spend time with Him. The Creator wants His creation to spend time with Him. Pray that He guides you daily. Now there may be times you read one verse and spend an hour in reflection, or you may read chapters at a time. The key is that you spend time with Him daily.

God loves you and has so much to show you. We have schedules we keep, but is God included in your schedule? You may have distractions to keep you from time with Him but are they attractions that truly make a difference in your life? The desire of your heart should be to put Jesus first in your life and allow Him to be Lord of your life. So, make time for the One who Created time and watch what a difference He will make in your life.
