Psalm 25:4-5 (NKJV)
4 Show me Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths. 5 Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.
Ephesians 3:14-19 (NKJV)
14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height– 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Hebrews 2:1 (NKJV)
1 Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.
Our Heavenly Father has so much to show us yet are we willing to listen? The key to coming to God is to come to Him in prayer with all your heart. All your heart means having no distractions and giving Him your full attention. When we come, we come with fully knowing He will guide us on the lighted path through His Scriptures and His love for us, we will then see all He has for us. As the Psalmist shows He will show, teach and lead in truth because of His love for us.
His love goes beyond measure and that is why we need to be grounded in His love as we see in the Ephesians passages. He will show us and through our faith we will come to know the knowledge that He has for us. Now understand when we read His Scripture by praying first the Holy Spirit will guide us. He may have us stay on one verse, read chapters, or even look at cross references. The important aspect is spending the time with Him to know His love, see His love, and experience the fullness of His love.
Now understand as you learn and grow in His love you must allow Him to mold you, shape you and guide you. Spend time with Him daily learning, reflecting, praying, praising, listening and receiving all His love and all He desires to show you. Treasuring the time that you spend with Him will keep you from being tempted to drift away as we see in the Hebrews verse.
So, as we see the importance of knowing His love it does require us to listen, receive and apply all He has for us. When we do we will know the fullness of His love for us.
Spend time in God’s Holy Word daily to see His love for you.
Pray, Read, Reflect, Rejoice, and give Him all the Praise and Glory.
Does your daily planner include a time to spend with God?
Do we truly understand all He has for us?
Father please help me to put You first in all I do. Please show me where I lack in giving You my whole heart, so that when I spend time with You I will be able to know Your love and all that You desire to show me. Thank You for Your love and Your willingness to show me Your direction for our lives. In Jesus Loving Name I pray, Amen.
