His Peace is a Gift
John 14:27 (NKJV)
27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
As you look down at lists this time of year do youtake the time to pray for those on the list? You have a list of those you want to give a gift. The next list may be a Christmas card list of those you want to share with. As you look at these lists reflect upon what they need. You take the time to pick a gift, you picked a card you thought they would enjoy, yet they may need your prayer. The Greatest Gift is Jesus and He gives us peace.
The peace He gives is for all yet all will not receive His love and peace. Jesus knows the needs of all and He wants their hearts not to be troubled. You may not know why someone is struggling, but He does. That is why when you look at your list allow it to be a prayer list also. The ones on your list may not be at peace in their hearts and they need the peace of Jesus. They may be lost, they may have lost a loved one, lost a job, struggling in a marriage, battling addictions, have a wayward child, or just need to be drawn back to His love. These are just a few examples and there are all kinds of needs that many are searching for answers for in their journey.
Yet, regardless of the hurt every journey needs the love and peace of Jesus. He fills the void in our hearts with the gift of His love, mercy, grace, peace, as well as making us be complete by knowing Him as our Lord and Savior.
As you look at your list and reflect how to pray, you may need to seek peace within yourself, so you can know who to pray for others this season. That list of needs may be a list of your own needs so pray for the peace you need. His peace is a gift for all who will open their hearts to receive it. So, receive the gift of His peace, and share His peace with others because Jesus is the Greatest Gift we could ever receive.
