Hope in His Power: Points to Joy
True joy comes in knowing Jesus and walking with Him daily. Praying, listening, encouraging, being encouraged, laughing, crying, and loving are all parts of our journey with Jesus and with others. The following has multiple Scriptures that all point us to seeing His love for us. When we look at the Scriptures in Romans, they point us to joy through His love. In turn this blog is a breakdown of the word points in acrostic form.
When we cling to His goodness, we realize all He has for us and all He wants to do through us. When we love Him, we receive and understand His love so that we can share His love with others. We understand His love as we pray and spend time reading Scriptures. As we read, we pray before we read and listen to what He desires to teach us and show us. His Living Word continues to teach us daily as the Teacher walks with us and shows us the path for our lives.
Our path is a joyful journey when it is with Him. The journey has us love one another, serving Him, patient in tribulations, praying to Him, distributing to the needs of others, and keeping our eyes upon Him. His love never fails, and we will have joy in all that we do when we focus on Him. Our trials can turn into testimonies, us being blessed will lead us to bless others, His Light in us will be seen by others and they will want what we have, and His love alone is all we need.
So, walk your journey in joy so that others will see His love through you and they in turn can enjoy their journey.
Romans 12:9-21 (NKJV)
9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. 17 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. 18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. 20 Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Verse 9…Cling to His Goodness
Matthew 19:17 (NKJV) So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”
Verse 10…Affectionate to One Another
John 13:34-35 (NKJV) 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Verse 11…Serving the Lord
Colossians 3:17 (NKJV) 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
Verse 12…Patient in Tribulation
Matthew 5:10-12 (NKJV) 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Verse 13…Distribution of Needs
Hebrews 13:16 (NKJV) 16 But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
Verses 14-21…I Look to Jesus
Luke 23:34 (NKJV) 34 Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots.
True joy comes in knowing that others see the love of Jesus in you, with you, and through you and they know your joy comes from knowing Jesus.
