Hope in His Power: Seeking His Mercy

Psalm 33:13-22 (NKJV)

13 The Lord looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men. 14 From the place of His dwelling He looks On all the inhabitants of the earth; 15 He fashions their hearts individually; He considers all their works. 16 No king is saved by the multitude of an army; A mighty man is not delivered by great strength. 17 A horse is a vain hope for safety; Neither shall it deliver any by its great strength. 18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who hope in His mercy, 19 To deliver their soul from death, And to keep them alive in famine. 20 Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. 21 For our heart shall rejoice in Him, Because we have trusted in His holy name. 22 Let Your mercy, O Lord, be upon us, Just as we hope in You.

Our mercy comes from God through Jesus.  Jesus paid the price for us by going to the cross.  We see that He looks upon us.  He knows who we are, where we are and what we are doing and going to do.  A Loving God who truly cares for us.  In knowing this and coming to know Him we can hope in His mercy.

Our soul yearns and waits for Him.  We truly desire for Him because that is where our true joy comes from and that is in knowing Jesus.  He is our Creator, Savior, Deliverer, Mediator, Friend and the One True Living King of Kings.

So, when we look to Jesus, we are seeking His love, mercy, grace and forgiveness.  He desires to fashion our hearts and that means we need to give Him our whole heart.  So, the question becomes are you putting your hope in His mercy?

Jesus is the only way to Heaven, He loved you enough to go to the cross, and your mercy comes from Him.  As we look at the title, we see the words Seeking His Mercy.  When we look at the word Seeking break it down into two words and that is SEE KING.  See Jesus for your mercy and know He wants to fashion your heart, and this happens when you accept Him into your heart.  So, accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and you will have your hope in His mercy.

Father: Thank You for Your love, mercy and grace.  Thank You for Your Son Jesus and His love for us in going to the cross.  You are a merciful God and we love You.

In Jesus Precious Name we pray, Amen.
