Creation Speaks by Scott Dix

Recently, my wife Lori and I have been redoing our front flower beds at home. In doing so I was going to remove a large vertical shrub that we had but I noticed that there was a rather large bird’s nest in it. So, I got up on a stepstool and saw five bird eggs in there. Needless to say, I am waiting until the eggs hatch before moving forward, so I’ve been checking every few days. Well about a week or so ago they hatched and these beautiful little birds are in this nest. Yesterday I held up each of our grandchildren so they could see the baby birds; they were all so excited!
As I see these beautifully designed birds and read God’s word that describes the beauty and intricate detail of his creation, I am amazed that someone would not believe in God. Psalm 19:1-4 (NIV) says, The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech of language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. Romans 1:20 (NKJV) says, For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.
Some of my favorite passages of scripture are in Job chapters 38-42 where God is speaking to Job questioning him. In Job 38:4 (NKJV) he says, “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?” Verse 8 (NKJV), “Or who shut in the sea with doors, when it burst forth and issued from the womb; when I made the cloud its garment…” Verse 12 (NKJV), “Have you commanded the morning since your days began and caused the dawn to know its place?” Verse 22 (NKJV), “Have you entered the treasury of snow, or have you seen the treasury of hail?” Verse 31 (NKJV), “Can you bind the cluster Pleiades, or loose the belt of Orion?” Verses 35-36 (NKJV), “Can you send out lightnings, that they may go, and say to you, ‘Here we are!”? Who has put wisdom in the mind? Or who has given understanding to the heart?” Verse 41 (NKJV), “Who provides food for the raven, when its young ones cry to God, and wander about for lack of food?” Chapter 39:19 (NKJV) “Have you given the horse strength, have you clothed his neck with thunder?” Verses 26-27 (NKJV), Does the hawk fly by your wisdom, and spread its wings toward the south? Does the eagle mount up at your command, and make its nest on high?”
Job responds to the Lord in chapter 42 and one of the things he says is “I uttered what I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.” The Bible says in Psalm 14:1 (NKJV) that the fool says in his heart there is no God. Creation speaks each and every day if we’ll listen; one only has to look at the design to know there is a designer! Or as Ray Comfort says, the building is proof there is a builder; the painting is proof there is a painter!
So, if you know someone that doesn’t believe in God, pray that the Lord will open their eyes by simply having them see what is right in front of them; maybe it’s a birds nest in a tree or looking into the eyes of their grandchild, or glaring at the moon on a bright night – creation is speaking! Father as creation speaks help us that believe to take in the wonder of your creation every day and for those that don’t believe help them to see that there is a wonderfully intelligent designer that created not only the world but also them and that You desire a wonderful relationship with them – in Jesus name, Amen!
