Hope in His Power: By Faith
1 Peter 1:17-21 (NKJV)
17 And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges
according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your
stay here in fear; 18 knowing that you
were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your
fathers, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without
blemish and without spot. 20 He indeed was
foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last
times for you 21 who through Him believe
in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and
hope are in God.
has several Scriptures to read and reflect upon as you prayerfully read this
today. The Scriptures you just read have
to do with our faith. The Scriptures
that follow show us the faithfulness of God and that is we should put our faith
We see in
verse 17 we have a Father in Heaven we can pray to as it states we are to call
upon Him. As we see He has no partiality
and looks at us individually. Our
relationship with Him will be strong when we realize that He loves us enough
not to compare us to anyone else. That
is the beauty of His love for us He loves us for who we are and as we pray, He
hears us, guides us, and cares for us.
He cares so
much for us as we see in verses 18 and 19 how we are redeemed with the precious
blood of Jesus. He went to the cross for
you. Think about that for a moment and
reflect upon His love for you that Jesus went to the cross for you. We know that He chose to go to the cross for
all, but not all will choose to ask for forgiveness. He went because He loves us, and we are to
repent and ask for His forgiveness.
forgiveness from the One who went to the cross for you shows that you believe
in Jesus. When we accept Jesus, we
believe that God had a plan from the beginning, and He showed His love by
sending Jesus. Jesus loves the Father
enough to obey and loves you enough to have gone to the cross for you and that
is what we see in verses 20 and 21.
question becomes do you have faith in Jesus and have faith in the One who is
faithful? The following Scriptures show
us the faithfulness of God. As you read
through you will see that you can have faith and hope in Our Heavenly Father
through sending Jesus, and He truly shows us His love for us.
Deuteronomy 7:9 (NKJV)
9 Therefore know that the Lord
your God, He is God, the
faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those
who love Him and keep His commandments;
Hebrews 10:19-25 (NKJV)
brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living
way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house
of God, 22 let us draw near
with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from
an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast
the confession of our hope
without wavering, for He who promised is
faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and
good works, 25 not forsaking the
assembling of ourselves together, as is
the manner of some, but exhorting one
another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
1 John 1:5-10 (NKJV)
5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare
to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we
have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the
truth. 7 But if we walk in
the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the
blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say that we
have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our
sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and
His word is not in us.
Revelation 21:5-7 (NKJV)
5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all
things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and
faithful.” 6 And He said to me,
“It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I
will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7 He who overcomes
shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.
Lamentations 3:22-24 (NKJV)
22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions
fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. 24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in
I put my faith in You.
You sent Jesus for us and He obeyed You by going to the cross for
us. Forgive me for the times I failed
You, doubted You, and was not obedient.
Your faithfulness is an immeasurable gift. Thank You for Your love for us.
In Your Precious Son’s Name, we pray, Amen!
