Overcoming

Overcoming

Everything we go through should be prayed about. Take for instance a marriage or family struggle, a lost job, an illness, or any battle that changes our lives we tend to:

  1. We get angry or disappointed at the person or situation
  2. We blame ourselves
  3. We allow separation from others as well as God
  4. We cry out at God instead of to God
  5. We isolate ourselves
  6. We look at the situation instead of the One who has a solution
  7. We criticize, condemn, or compare and in turn we should confess our need for Him and thank Him for what He is about to do.

God is with us all the way. He always has a plan. We must be thankful in all that He is doing and showing us. Instead of why me, why not me; instead of poor me, pour into me. Sometimes it takes a wrong for one to go through for all to grow in His love and to be able get it right.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

I Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJV

“‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’”

Jeremiah 33:3 NKJV

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”

Jeremiah 29:11-13 NKJV

“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 8:37-39 NKJV

Stop and pray

He will show you the way;

Thank Him and seek His plan,

So, you will see all that you can.

Hope in His Power: Through His Grace

Hope in His Power: Through His Grace

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 (NKJV)

16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, 17 comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work.

Our grace comes from our Heavenly Father who loves us.  God loves us enough to send Jesus for us.  Jesus has a love for us that is truly a gift.  To go to the cross and suffer for us is truly an indescribable gift that cannot be measured.  Jesus is the one true way to everlasting life through Him and He paid the price.  Grace because of the blood He shed for us.  Grace not earned or deserved, but because He loves us.

We know we can have good hope in Him because of His love for us.  Now realize His grace is for all who will admit they are a sinner, repent, and ask Him to be Lord of their life.  Now realize not all will accept Jesus and realize His true grace.  There is not one sin that you have done that He did not take to the cross for you to ask for forgiveness of as you have journeyed through life.  Yet, you do have to pray and ask for forgiveness.  His grace in His blood, the Holy Spirit convicting your heart to pray, Jesus being our Mediator to the Father and the Father forgiving us is true grace.  That is true grace and true love because we have a Father Who is love.

Now as you pray for forgiveness pray for all the wrongs you did, as well as the sins you committed in knowing what you should do and did not do it.  Yes, you knew at times what you were to do and James 4:17 states: Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

So, comfort your hearts and seek God’s direction in His Scriptures.  Know He loves you, has a plan, and He will show you His way and His will for our life.  So, take comfort in His grace and thank Him for His love.

Father:

We thank You for Your love, mercy and grace.  We thank You Jesus for going to the cross for us.  We ask for forgiveness of the things we have done wrong as well as the mistakes in not doing what You asked.  I put my hope in You knowing You are the One True Living God who loves me.

In Your Son’s Precious Name, I pray, Amen.

Hope in His Power: By Faith

Hope in His Power: By Faith

1 Peter 1:17-21 (NKJV)

17 And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear; 18 knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. 20 He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you 21 who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

Today’s Blog has several Scriptures to read and reflect upon as you prayerfully read this today.  The Scriptures you just read have to do with our faith.  The Scriptures that follow show us the faithfulness of God and that is we should put our faith in Him.

We see in verse 17 we have a Father in Heaven we can pray to as it states we are to call upon Him.  As we see He has no partiality and looks at us individually.  Our relationship with Him will be strong when we realize that He loves us enough not to compare us to anyone else.  That is the beauty of His love for us He loves us for who we are and as we pray, He hears us, guides us, and cares for us.

He cares so much for us as we see in verses 18 and 19 how we are redeemed with the precious blood of Jesus.  He went to the cross for you.  Think about that for a moment and reflect upon His love for you that Jesus went to the cross for you.  We know that He chose to go to the cross for all, but not all will choose to ask for forgiveness.  He went because He loves us, and we are to repent and ask for His forgiveness.

Asking for forgiveness from the One who went to the cross for you shows that you believe in Jesus.  When we accept Jesus, we believe that God had a plan from the beginning, and He showed His love by sending Jesus.  Jesus loves the Father enough to obey and loves you enough to have gone to the cross for you and that is what we see in verses 20 and 21.

So, the question becomes do you have faith in Jesus and have faith in the One who is faithful?  The following Scriptures show us the faithfulness of God.  As you read through you will see that you can have faith and hope in Our Heavenly Father through sending Jesus, and He truly shows us His love for us.

Deuteronomy 7:9 (NKJV)

9 Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;

Hebrews 10:19-25 (NKJV)

19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

1 John 1:5-10 (NKJV)

5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

Revelation 21:5-7 (NKJV)

5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” 6 And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.

Lamentations 3:22-24 (NKJV)

22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. 24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!”

Father:

I put my faith in You.  You sent Jesus for us and He obeyed You by going to the cross for us.  Forgive me for the times I failed You, doubted You, and was not obedient.  Your faithfulness is an immeasurable gift.  Thank You for Your love for us.

In Your Precious Son’s Name, we pray, Amen!

Hope in His Power: Eternal Life

Hope in His Power: Eternal Life

2 Timothy 1:8-12 (NKJV)

8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, 9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, 10 but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, 11 to which I was appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles. 12 For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.

You are saved by what Jesus did for you upon the cross.  Now we have all sinned and He paid a price for us.  This leads to the question have you accepted what He did for you?  Have you admitted that you are a sinner?  Do you believe that He went to the cross for you?  Are you willing to confess your need for Him as your Lord and Savior?  Questions that need answers that only you can answer.

He went to the cross to save us and call us with a holy calling through His grace.  It is not about works or He would not have needed to go to the cross.  He went to the cross because only He can save us.  He conquered death for you.  Imagine Him on the cross for you and how many of your sins He took for you.  Sins of doing wrong, but also sins in knowing what you should do, and you did not do it.  He took all your sins there, so the question becomes have you repented and asked for forgiveness?  He went for you.

He took your shame and you never have to be ashamed of Him.  Jesus is a Loving Friend, a Savior, a Teacher, a Healer, a Mediator, and yes, He is all we need.  So, cry out to Him and call out to Him the One who knows your name and yes you the One who loved you enough to go to the cross for you.

Jesus:

Thank You for going to the cross for me.  As I ask for forgiveness help me to list each sin I need to repent of, and I thank You for Your love and grace.

In Your Holy Name I pray, Amen.

Jesus Sees Your Faith

Jesus Sees Your Faith

Mark 2:1-5 (NKJV)

1 And again He entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that He was in the house.

2 Immediately many gathered together, so that there was no longer room to receive them, not even near the door. And He preached the word to them.

3 Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men.

4 And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying.

5 When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.

Four men in unity having faith in Jesus as they bring their friend to Him what a touching story.  We see at times as we go to share His love with others we run into obstacles.  Here we see the entrance was blocked, yet that did not stop them from seeking Jesus for His loving compassion for their friend.  When we have the desire to share His love with others, things may get in our way, but God always has a way if we will seek His love.  They in turn thought and went to the roof.

As they went to the roof to get their friend before Jesus look at where their faith took them.  Their faith trusted in His power and not only did His power heal him physically, and He healed him spiritually first by forgiving him.  The second area of faith seen is they trusted in the strength of what they were using to lower him.  Third they had enough faith to trust the bedding would hold.  Last area of faith was that they would be in unity to lower him at the same rate without one getting ahead or one falling behind.

We must have faith in Jesus and trust all that He shows us.  This is a beautiful example and to see they were in unity together gives us the example we should be as Christians.  Working together for His Glory by bringing others before Him through praying and sharing His love.

He loves you so much. So in your faith in Him trust and know He is the Way and will show you the way to encourage others.

Father:

Thank You for Your Son.  He always knows what we need, and we always need to have faith .  We also need to be in unity as we seek to help those hurting and in need Your loving touch.  So, Jesus thank You for Your loving touch.

In Your Precious and Holy Name, I pray, Amen. fffff

Hope in the One Who Does Not Disappoint

Hope in the One Who Does Not Disappoint

Romans 5:5 (NKJV)

5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Struggles in life happen whether it is in a family, a marriage, a job, your health, your faith, your journey or your purpose.  We all have expectations upon our life, yet we need to see what God’s will is for our life.  We will have times of joy, peace, happiness, valleys, mountains to climb, or even dry seasons.  All these God uses to help us to grow in our faith.  By having our faith in Him, it leads us to have hope in Him and His power.  A hope that does not disappoint.

Everything we go through is an appointment with God.  When we see all things point to His love for us, we will see the purpose in all that we go through.  The medical appointment may put you in the office to encourage another patient waiting or a nurse helping you.  A lost job may have you interview with a lost person and they come to know Jesus by seeing your hope in Him.  He may heal others in your family or marriage when you lay everything before Him, and we see Him heal wounded hearts.  Yet you may even have a testimony to share with a small group in how He was there when you thought no one cared and that included Jesus.  There are examples you may think of as you reflect upon these areas.

As you reflect realize the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.  The Gift of God’s love, the gift of Jesus, and the gift of the Holy Spirit shows us God’s loved poured out to us.  We should never say, “Poor me,” but “Pour into me.”  We will see His love and have hope in Him when we seek Him in all that we do.  We will see His love also when we reflect on ALL the times that He was there for us.  So, as you reflect and see all that He has done in your life’s journey, now pray.

Pray by thanking Him and praising Him for pouring His love into you.  See what you have learned and how you are to share what you have learned and always give Him all the Glory for what He has done and what He wants to do through you.  Your hope will reflect His love and others can come to know the One that will never disappoint them.

Father:

I thank You that my hope is in You.  There were times I missed how much You love me, times that I doubted you loved me, and times I questioned if You loved me why the turmoil.  Now I see Your love and thank You that You give me hope through Your love and I am amazed at all that You show me.

Thank You Precious Jesus for Your love and it is in Your Holy Name I pray, Amen.

Hope in His Power: The Risen Christ

Hope in His Power: The Risen Christ

Luke 24:28-32 (NKJV)

28 Then they drew near to the village where they were going, and He indicated that He would have gone farther. 29 But they constrained Him, saying, “Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent.” And He went in to stay with them. 30 Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight. 32 And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?”

Do you put your hope in the Risen Christ?  Jesus went to the cross for all who will believe.  I love here in Luke how it describes how Cleopas and another disciple describe their encounter with Jesus.  They had met Him on the road after He had risen and they did not recognize Him, yet they invited Him to stay.  The first beauty is they invited Him.  He makes a difference in us when we invite Him into our hearts and ask for His forgiveness.  His love is there for us and we need to desire His love for us.

We see that as He broke bread with them, and their eyes were opened.  They knew Him before and now knew that it was Jesus with them.  When we accept Him, we can see all that He has for us and wants to show us.

Lastly, He talked with them and spent time in His Scriptures with them and their hearts burned.  Do you spend time with Him and have that burning desire?  You need to because He has so much love to pour into to you.  So, take the time to spend with Him in reading your Bible and praying and see all that He has for you in your journey.

Father:

Help me to have the desire to spend time with Jesus.  To have that burning desire and recognize Your love for us.  As I walk with You daily Jesus help me to see all that You have for me and that in all I do You get all the Glory.

In Your Precious Name I pray Jesus, Amen.

Believing in His Healing Touch

Believing in His Healing Touch

Mark 9:20-24 (NKJV)

20 Then they brought him to Him. And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming at the mouth.

21 So He asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood.

22 And often he has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”

23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

There is power in the Name of Jesus.  We see a man crying out to Jesus for the healing of his son and he believes Jesus can heal him.  We also see in verse 22:

22 And often he has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”

the father’s cry for his own Spiritual healing.  We see two healings by the father believing.  Now we do not know how many prayers the father has cried out, or prayers of others for this situation, but we do see a father seeking Jesus.  His compassion for his son and the need for healing brought him to Jesus.  Jesus healed both through the belief of the father.

We see a physical healing and a Spiritual healing.  This shows us that as many ways as the child hurt this also hurt the father and he knew it was out of his hands.  He came to Jesus and turned all his needs over and through his belief Jesus healed them both.

What do you need to lay before Jesus today?  A healing physically, mentally, emotionally, Spiritually, financially, your marriage, your relationships, or to know the love of Jesus that you have been missing all these years.  Just believe, Just believe, Just Believe, and yes JUST BELIEVE that He loves you, hears you and is there for you.  So, cry out to the One who knows your needs and give Him all the Glory in what He does for you.

Father:

We thank You for Your love for us.  Thank You Jesus for going to the cross for us because You love us.  Thank You that we can call out to You and that our prayers are heard, and we trust in Your perfect timing and in Your will Father.  Thank You for knowing my needs before I cry out to You.  Your love is amazing, and I believe in You.

In Your Son’s Holy Name I pray, Amen.

Faith in the Power of God

Faith in the Power of God

1 Corinthians 2:1-5 (NKJV)

1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. 3 I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. 4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

As we journey through life, we gain wisdom through His Scriptures, our prayer time, our circumstances, as well as from others He puts in our path.  God is constantly showing us His love.  A right Scripture in His prefect timing.  Stopping to pray when we need to know that He listens and cares.  We may be seeking answers and the circumstances we are in show us His love.  We may even get encouragement from others when we need it to help us along our journey.

God shows us His power in various ways as we stay in step with Him.  Please make sure in all ways that He gets all the Glory.  We are not to put our faith in man, but in God alone.  His power, His timing, His love, His ways, His Words, and our complete trust in Him will show us His will, His wisdom, and His direction.  God knows all that we need, and we are to trust Him.

Our trust in Him will keep us grounded and looking to Him.  He may put a mentor or friend in our life that prays with us and encourages us, but trust in God and thank Him for those He puts in your path and lean on God for all your answers.  Jesus is a True Friend, the Holy Spirit is your guide, and your Heavenly Father knows you because He created you.  Trust in the power of the Blessed Trinity and give God all the Glory.

Father:

Thank You for all that You show me.  You encourage, equip, and empower me every step of the way.  Please help me to stay in step with You Jesus and forgive me where I do not put my complete trust in You.  Thank You also Holy Spirit for interceding my prayers and guiding me in the Scriptures.  To You Father be all the Glory.

In Jesus Holy and Precious Name I pray, Amen.

Hope in His Power: By Believing in Him

Hope in His Power: By Believing in Him

Colossians 1:19-23 (NKJV)

19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. 21 And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled 22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight– 23 if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.

God loves us so much, yet we do not always understand His love.  There are also times others will see His love and totally reject it or never receive it.  Jesus going to the cross was for us to be reconciled and at peace through His blood.  Jesus went so we can be forgiven and have faith in Him.

Having faith in Him can keep us grounded and steadfast as we put our hope in Him.  His powerful love for us shows that He forgives, shows mercy, gives grace, provides hope, and provides an unconditional love.  All will have an opportunity to accept His love so allow yourself to be drawn to His love and accept His love.

Others will see your actions, reactions or lack of action so prayerfully be all that God desires you to be as you walk with Him.  His love for you and through you will allow others to be drawn to what they see in you.  As they are drawn to His love you will be blessed, and He will get all the Glory.

Father:

Thank You for Your Loving Son.  Jesus thank You for going to the cross so that Your blood shed for us does reconcile us.  Your love is amazing and immeasurable, so we thank You and please help us to share Your love with others.

Thank You!  Amen.
